Things I would do…

Things I would do differently if I was lucky enough to have baby number three.

Bear was first born, we had almost everything for him from a state of the art travel system to a bouncer which sings and dances.
With Bell, we had all the essentials and the things we never used with Bear were of the list.

Now if I was ever lucky enough to have baby number 3… (never say never!) I would do a few things differently.

  • I would use reusable nappies – the costs soon add up with desposables and its mot good for the envioment and there are some super cute designs around now a days
  • Breastfeed, I couldn’t breastfeed with Bear or Bell but I would actually ask for support and have a good go.
  • Baby wear, with Bear toddling and Bell in the buggy it was easy to hold a hand and push but logically with two hands to hold and a buggy to push it wouldn’t be possible.
  • Baby led weaning, okay I did this with Bell and I would so do this again, it was so easy and laid back.
  • Vaccinate. Now I am doing so much research into this and the pros bad cons. I never researched this with Bell and Bear but I will certainly do it this time around.
  • Toilet training I would let baby do it when they are ready same as I did with Bell and Bear.
  • Travel system- I would just buy a stroller they are only rear facing for a max 4 months.
  • Car seat I would buy a car seat which went from birth to 4/5 years as I never actually got the car seat out of the car with Bell,  I  did very rarely with Bear, but not often.
  • Changing bags I would choose a Pink Lining one which would be compact as to be honest the changing bag ended up full of rubbish!
  • Toys I would buy a few as they soon grow out of them and I’m sure the baby would prefer playing with Bell or Bears toys….

What would you do differently if you had another baby?

My essentials …

My essentials for a trip out with Bell and Bear, are getting less and less as they are getting older.

Bell is now having hardly any accidents and Bear is very good too.

My essentials are as followed

  • A drink
  • A snack
  • Baby wipes
  • Change of clothes for Bell
  • Antibacterial gel
  • Suncream
  • Sun hats
  • Foldable toilet seat

As you can see the list is small!

It’s amazing that a tiny baby can have so much bits and pieces to turning almost 3 and you hardly need anything!

And the best bit is they fit into my little Pink lining changing bag!!!!

Now which one to use….

What do you need for baby…. Changing bag essential’s

When your pregnant there are so many do’s and don’ts.

From what you can eat, drink and more important what you should have for baby.

I am going to do a few “what do you need for baby..” blogs. These are what I found really useful for me. I understand everyone is different and each child is different also.

Let’s start with newborn to six months.

My essentials for this age are:

*Nappies and Wipes

*Nappy cream

*Dummy (Bear didn’t have one but Bell did sometimes)

*spare muslin (I usually took two with Bell Reflux babies!)

*one set of clothes (a quick trip) or two or three if out all day.

*Nappy cream

*Bottles and milk. (Obviously if you are breastfeeding be proud and ignore the silly comments the 5% of people make. By law you can feed your child anywhere exempt being in a swimming pool!)

6 months to 18/22 months.

Okay basically the same as above but you will be able to hopefully reduce the mount of clothes you take with you.

This is weaning stage so don’t forget to pack a drink of water, a spoon,a bib and maybe a bowl too!

From 18 months plus some children start to potty train. I always suggest waiting until they are ready not you as it will 100% reduce the amount of accidents they have.

When packing for a child who is toilet training always pack more knickers/pants and trousers than you need, they will come in handy. A great invention I found with Bell was a potty called potete potty. It folds down and easy to carry, it also turns into a toilet seat too!

Don’t forget to pack the snacks and the drink too!
There are so many different types of changing bags around now. I’ve had too many But I love Pink lining changing bags I have a little obsession with them. Now Bell needs less I have a little changing bag which is ideal as it fits my phone, keys, wipes and a change of clothes.
